This suite of qualifications was introduced in 2014 to replace the lifelong learning teaching qualifications - PTLLS, CTLLS and DTLLS. The previous qualifications will remain valid for those who hold them, but the option to undertake them was phased out in 2014.
The current Education and Training qualifications have been developed for the wider teaching and training market, not just further education.
These qualifications, as with the predecessors, are now being recognised as the ‘benchmark standard’ required for teachers, trainers, assessors, tutors, instructors and assessors in both academic vocational institutes and commercial industry training departments, within the UK and worldwide.
If you work within an international institution you will benefit from undertaking any of these qualifications as they are usually recognised in your home country.
