END POINT ASSESSMENT

End Point Assessment

Apprenticeship reforms in the UK have meant a huge change to the way Apprenticeships are delivered and assessed.

Become an End Point Assessor.

As a result of a number of reviews and the implementation of Apprenticeship Standards, the End Point Assessment process has been introduced. This means that every Apprentice will now undertake an End Point Assessment, an assessment based on them completing and achieving their Apprenticeship. These assessments will be completed by an independent End Point Assessor, someone completely neutral to the Apprentice.

To support End Point Assessors with this process a new qualification has been introduced, based on the principles of End Point Assessment and preparing individuals to carry out this new role.

The qualification is aimed at existing Assessors (excellent CPD), or those new to End Point Assessment but currently work within an industry where Apprenticeship Standards are in place.

Following the completion of this qualification our support team will work with learners to enable them to find, apply for and undertake End Point Assessor roles with a recognised End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO).

Information about this qualification is available, along with a downloadable factsheet.

The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (known as the DET) is the current, up to date Level 5 teaching qualification. This was introduced in 2014 and replaced the Level 5 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS). The DET sits within the Education and Training suite of qualifications, alongside the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) and the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET). The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training has been and still is a very flexible and valuable qualification for vocational Teachers, Trainers and Tutors to gain, opening up opportunities for employment and linked to QTLS. The structure of the qualification units provides bespoke pathways for learners to follow, based on their own role or how they want to develop.
