Our Founding

Simon's prior experience and how he saw a gap in the market.

Having worked in vocational training for nearly twenty years Simon is passionate about training Assessors, Teachers, Trainers and Quality Assurers. 

In 2011 he set up SL Training and Development as he felt there was a lack of specialist, good quality providers offer qualifications in teaching, assessment and quality assurance. 

He has focused his experience and expertise in this area, with an aim to pass on his knowledge to people who work within training, assessment and quality assurance. He is passionate about the training he delivers and engages with every learner that undertakes a qualification with SL Training and Development.

Early Growth

From individuals to international companies

In the early days Simon spent time working with individuals on a one to one basis who were looking to achieve an assessing or teaching / training qualification. This has not changed and as the business has grown he has been lucky enough to start working in partnership some large employers and large national organisations. 

SL Training and Development work across a range of industries with a number of large employers such as Greggs, Arsenal FC, David Lloyd Leisure, Virgin Trains and Menzies Aviation, through a bespoke service that provides qualifications to meet organisational needs. In early 2019 SL Training and Development went international, providing our qualifications to a range of clients in the Middle East.

We are different because we listen to the needs of our clients and individual learners needs to deliver a bespoke training package. This enables us to provide support and guidance to ensure each learner successfully achieves the qualification they start. 

Our bespoke offering blends face to face delivery with online learning, all provided by subject experts and experienced practitioners.

Future plans?

Our training has developed significantly enabling us to provide a wide range of options for our clients and learners. Well established face-to-face training is now supported by online learning to offer a blended learning solution that can facilitate learning for all of our clients and learners, achieving success at every level. Qualifications can be taken purely online, with support to ensure completion, or through blended learning.
