External Quality Assurance 

The current suite of qualifications for External Quality Assures replaces the V2 qualification that was previously offered by Awarding Organisations, aiming to provide a clear understanding of the principles and practices of quality assurance within the QCF/RQF.

IQ Level 4 Award in Understanding the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice -This is a knowledge-based unit that provides an introduction to external quality assurance. It can be taken by people who currently work as External Quality Assurers, Verifiers or Moderators as part of their on-going development and by experienced Internal Quality Assurers who want to expand their knowledge or move into external quality assurance. It is also provides good training for anyone working in an external quality assurance job role that is not necessarily related to training or qualifications. 

This Award can be completed as a stand-alone unit or as part of the larger external quality assurance qualifications. There is no requirement to carry out external quality assurance activities to complete this unit.

IQ Level 4 Award in Externally Assuring the Quality of Assessment Processes and Practice - Combines the theory element of external quality assurance along with the practical aspect of actually carrying out external quality assurance of assessment processes and practice. It is for anyone who works within an external quality assurance role for an Awarding Organisation, or those who currently hold the V2 qualification and want to update as part of their continuous professional development. It can also be used as development for people involved in external quality assurance outside of education and training.

IQ Level 4 Certificate in Leading the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice - The Certificate provides those who Lead External Quality Assurance activities the opportunity to gain a qualification for the work they carry out.
